Night of a Lifetime

Back in January, Dave was informed that we had won two tickets to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics being held in Vancouver.

Our tickets arrived a few days before hand along with a pair of the coveted Red Olympic Mittens.

And yes, the ticket price does say $750!!

Friday afternoon, we were picked up by a limo and whisked off downtown with 3 other couples. We had a fabulous lunch at Blue Water Cafe. Than it was off to BC Place for the ceremonies.

Each seat held one of these boxes,

Inside the box, a poncho/hospital gown thingy that we all wore so the lights during the ceremonies would reflect nicely. Makes me wonder why we were asked to wear light colored clothing if they were just going to cover us up. Also 2 flashlight candles and a drumstick. Turns out the outside of the box was a drum to be used during the ceremonies.

I loved this sticker on the outside of the box. I wonder what was in other people's boxes.

At the end of the night, we each got a 2010 Olympic pin as well.

I'll admit that I'm not much of a sports fan but since this, the Olympics have been on the TV every day.

If you are interested in more 2010 fun stuff, check out darling daughter's blog. My son-in-law's boss gave them tickets to the Canada women's hockey game on Saturday night and Rhonda has blogged about that here.
