Teen Challenge

My friend Donna and I have been busy making 15 quilts for Teen Challenge. I pieced three than focused on quilting them; Donna made the other twelve.

For the quilts I made; I kept them all the same. It saved time in the piecing and how much fabric I need to use.

I did add a border on one since I was short a few blocks at the end.

And as luck would have it, now I've ended up with extra blocks. Will have to find something to do with these.

First I have more quilt to quilt!

Tilly's Customed Thangle Quilt

Tilly brought in two Thangle quilts; one for each of her daughters for Christmas. Rhonda quilted one and I did the other. It's neat to see how we both went in different directions on the quilts.

I went with feathers on 'mine'. And 8 different colors of thread to blend.
A large feathered wreath in the plain blocks,

And a feather in the center of each pieced block surrounded by continuous curve. Each feather is opposite in the blocks so the quilt is not directional.

More feathers in the corners and ditching everywhere else.

For the borders, Feathered Curls and Roses.

Head over to Rhonda's blog to see how she quilted hers.

Busy busy

My friend Donna was asked by Teen Challenge to make 15 quilts for Christmas. In 4 weeks. I agreed to help her out and we have made 9 of the 15. And now I have to get started quilting them.

Before I got started on that project, I quilted this adorable boy quilt for Hamels. I love this fabric line; Diggers and Dozers. The fabrics are so bright and kid-friendly.

Quilted with Happy Times.

And check out the fun backing fabric.

Now it's back to the charity quilts. I'll show you those next week.

Rhonda claims

That she originally planned this quilt for herself. And than changed her mind. And I inherited it.

Rhonda had sewn it together and cut out all the appliqué pieces. All I had to do was iron them down and quilt it. The quilt just had to be McTavished; I think it turned out fantastically.

I truly love it. And it matches my house perfectly! Thanx Rhonda.
