It's been way too long since a blog post, especially when I get people asking where I am.

The Christmas rush has started at Quilted Cats; here's a few of the customer quilts I have recently finished quilting.

Hilda's Winter White quilt. I love how she changed the pattern, and it is so striking in black and white.

She did a beautiful holly embroidery around the entire quilt.
quilted with Flurry

Margaret brought in these two.
The first was a custom; just a simple meander on the quilt.

And a lovely Thangles quilt
quilted with Rambler Rose

And Marcia's quilt. For some reason I didn't get a picture of the entire quilt.

The fabrics are just lovely!

I was supposed to be in a quilting class yesterday and today but sadly, it was cancelled. So I've made a little something for myself. I'm hoping to finish quilting it today(yes, it's really almost totally finished) and I'll share it later this week.

In between customer quilting, I have gotten a few quilts for myself finished.

First up, I finally finished the mystery quilt from Hamels from 2009.

I'm really happy that I went with the paper pieced border. It was very finicky to put together but I love the look of it.

I also finished a snowman embroidery quilt.

Aren't they cute?

Now to find time to quilt them!

Dear Jane

Ginger pieced this beautiful Dear Jane quilt. Because of the business of the quilt, she requested a simple meander for it.

I love the look of the Dear Jane, but I don't think I would want to piece all those little blocks.

Home again home again

Dave and I just got back from two weeks at one of our favorite lakes. Sure is nice to be home with electricity and running water though. We did have a small generator with us so I could do some sewing during our holiday.

Rhonda ordered the book Quilts Made Modern. It arrived while she was on holidays. I took a look through it and had to make one of the projects out of it.

I quilted each section of the panel differently; water stitch in the top, some pebbles and a free hand shell.

The quilt instructions are to pillowcase the quilts; I didn't do that with mine so I will bind them in the same fabric as the background.
