Log Cabin

I wanted to make a Log Cabin quilt for our bedroom wall. Hamels has this gorgeous fabric line called Bread and Butter, I fell in love with it and knew it was perfect.

This is where I am on the wallhanging. But now I have to make a decision; I bought a lot of fabric(like I said, I really like it!) So do I leave the Log Cabin like this? Or do I continue and make it big enough for our bed. Decisions decisions.

While I'm thinking about that, I got sidetracked with these,

I think the Log Cabin is going to have to wait.

Schnibbles

I made this wall hanging back in August and got it quilted up this week. I was going to custom it but since I had just finished my cat quilt, I wanted something quick and easy to do.

Quilted with Flying Paisley.

It looks wonderful on our bedroom wall.

Did you notice my new button? Feel free to take it and add it to your blog. And if you have a button, let me know and I'll add it here.

Finally

A very special finish. I started this Buggy Barn quilt I think 5 years ago. And over the weekend, I finally got it finished! Binding went on yesterday and now I have it hung on the studio wall so all can enjoy it.

I really enjoyed just getting to play as I quilted this one. I did a fun swirl meandering design around each cat, some McTavishing in each of the colored triangles on the cats. The fun part was doing the eyes and whiskers. Both certainly pop!

Quilt Guild

I was honored again this year to be asked to quilt the Chilliwack Day Quilt Guild's raffle quilt.
Such a beautiful quilt.

Quilted with Bountiful Feathers.

The backing fabric couldn't have been a more perfect match.

I love how the brown thread didn't take away from the quilt; nor the pattern.

I think I'll buy a ticket or two for this one myself.

Happy New Year!

It seems silly to be saying that this late in January(how did it get to be the 17th already?). Regardless, I have been very lax in updating my blog so Happy New Year it is!

We had a wonderful Christmas. My son and daughter in law drove out from Calgary and we enjoyed every moment that we got to spend with them.

Erica wanted to make a ragged quilt for one of her friends while she was here. She and I spent one evening going through my fabric stash picking out various flannels. Erica wanted a simple X in the blocks to speed things along.

One of the corner squares was done with a double-heart instead of an X and Erica turned that into the quilt label.

Erica had the task of cutting all the seams for the ragging process.

A quick wash and dry and it was finished.
