I see lots of these for Christmas gifts this year!

Sidetracked

The past two weeks our house has been a disaster zone. I decided to have the house repainted inside. Originally it was just going to be the master bedroom, the hallway, stairwell, living/dining room and kitchen. Not a lot right? That changed when accidentally one of the painters started repainting the crown moulding in the family room; so that room got repainted as well. And because almost everything else was being redone; I decided to have the main bathroom repainted as well.

And just to keep things more excited; we had all the doors in the entire house repainted as well. We have beautiful oak doors but the previous owners painted them all white. Dave and I tried different methods to bring the doors back to their original condition with no luck so we had them painted as well.

As a result, decorating for Christmas had been put on hold until this past weekend. I had one of my grandsons spend the weekend to help me get everything set up. As we were pulling all my Christmas quilts out, I discovered these,

Four pieced Christmas table runners!

So yesterday I snuck some time and started on one.

Lots of custom quilting ahead for this one.

I took some time on the weekend

In between starting my Christmas shopping and practices for our church Christmas drama I got some sewing done on a new little something for me.

I did this lovely denim quilt for Hilda last week.

quilted with a water stitch
I love how she pieced the denim blocks.

I wonder if I'll get my little something for me done before Christmas?

Christmas Rush

The final countdown is on for Christmas. Hard to believe that December is just around the corner. I still don't have my Christmas decorating done!

With purchasing Bliss, I discovered that my Circle Lord boards are a bit trickier to use. My machine now sits higher on it's table so I've had to raise the boards.

I quilted this lovely quilt for Marie using the Bubbles boards.

I love the contrast of the quilting on the quilt pattern.

Onto the next one!

I'm here, I'm here!

I've been selling APQS machine's left, right and center lately it seems. So much so that I have rarely been quilting but I do have some goodies to show you.

I quilted again for Barb of CoachHouse Designs for Fall Market.

quilted with Swirl

I love this fabric by Deb Strain.

Another quilt featuring the same fabric line.

quilted with Square Spiral

I love the sun on the quilt.

The next quilt was custom quilted.

I love the birds.

And this one

Quilted with Daisy

Pretty, pretty, pretty.

Beautiful batik butterflies.

Quilted with Angel Wings
Sadly, there will be no more quilting for  Barb. In the middle of finishing her quilting for market, I sold her a longarm machine!

Bliss

Between our trip to Hawaii and MQX in Portland and our trip last week to Calgary; I ordered Bliss for my Millie.

I haven't had a lot of time to play with it but so far, I love it!

New carriage means learning curve.

A B-I-G learning curve. I'll admit to struggling right through my first quilt on the machine. Good thing it was a charity quilt.

Snowstorm

For some reason I can't access my blog; maybe it's because it has been so long since I've blogged? Anyway, I've sent this post to Rhonda so she can blog it for me.

Dave and I have been in Calgary for the week. I had some APQS service calls to make and we wanted a visit with our son/daughter in law.

When we drove it, we had lovely weather; no snow, beautiful sun. And now as we get ready to drive home on Monday we have this...

Hopefully we will have a safe trip and I'll get caught up on my blogging when I get home.

It's hard to believe

That I've been home for over a week from our cruise(it was absolutely fabulous!). I jumped right back into work once we returned home getting Quilt Market quilts finished.

Here's some sneak peeks,

I did take some time on the weekend and did a few things for myself. I finally got the binding on a new bed quilt for us. To finish things off, I made a new table runner for my dresser,

I also did two for our end tables.

It's a short week this week; more so with our holiday yesterday. Next weekend it's off to Portland for MQX. I look forward to sharing all the quilts I've been doing once I return.

Bon Voyage

By the time you read this, Dave and I will be on our way to Hawaii for our cruise. I've been working double-time to get some quilts finished and am really looking forward to this holiday.

I did sneak some embroidery into my suitcase. I have a few more sewing machine embroideries to finish up and I picked up the neatest new pattern, Vintage Tin by Crabapple Hill.

I'm looking forward to sitting deckside stitching. See you in a few weeks.

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

I've been busy with Market quilting and with not being able to show you any, the blog has been quieter than usual.

Sunday Dave and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary. 45 years-wow. We are going on a Hawaiian cruise to celebrate; very looking forward to our trip.

With leaving on Friday(ack, only 3 more days to finish up work!), I've been busy, busy, busy with quilting. Shelia brought in 4 of these witch quilts for Halloween.

I quilted some spider webs in the corners and lots of details on the witch.

With a cute little pumpkin in the corner.

Now I have 2 more quilts to finish up this week. And I have to pack. I better get to it.

Hello September

I quilted this lovely quilt for Faye yesterday.

Faye chose the pattern Floral Meander.
It is such a lovely quilt.

Dave is gone for the long weekend and my plans involve finally finishing up my Delectable Mountains quilt that I started way back in February.

Enjoy your weekend!

Have you gotten the latest copy of Quiltermaker Magazine?

See that quilt in the middle? I quilted it.

It's oh so very exciting to see your name in a magazine.

Congrats to Barb on another lovely quilt pattern and thank you for choosing me as your quilter.

Dave and I went camping for the weekend. It was lovely to get away, and only a short hour drive from our home. Because the drive was so short, we brought the cats with us; that always makes a camping trip more fun.

I got a few more of my embroidered sewing machines finished.

3 down, 3 more to go.

I framed up another embroidery project that I had just finished as well.

It's so bright and cheery in my kitchen.

Today, I have the first of many fall market quilts to do.

I'll show you more when I can.

Here kitty, kitty

I did two cute cat quilts this week. This first one was pieced and embroidered by Hilda.

How cute are these blocks?

quilted with Flirtatious
And by Margaret and quilted with my circle lord swirl board.

Playtime

I showed a sneak peek of this quilt a few weeks ago. I got some new Circle Lord boards, one being bubbles that I have been wanting to play with and I knew this was the quilt to try it on.

I love the effect this pattern makes and can't wait to put it on some more quilts.

Flannel

Sheila pieced this beautiful braid quilt and did it all in yummy flannels.

I love the richness of the colors.

quilted with Folk Heart

Home again, home again

Dave and I returned home yesterday from Calgary. We had a lovely time visiting our son and catching up with friends.

I was able to get some embroidery done while we were away.

First up, I got the first block of my sewing machine quilt finished.

And I started another too.

Now I need to decide if I am going to play more today or do some work.

Road Trip

It's a long weekend here in BC; today is BC day. Dave and I are off to Calgary to visit our son and daughter in law.

Erica was out in February and wanted to make the same wall hangings I made last fall.

Dare I say that once Erica went home these sat waiting and waiting for me to get them quilted?

I kept the quilting simple and went with a water stitch.

I didn't know what color Erica would want for the binding so I packed some black, the red she used for the birds and the white background and will bind them when we get there.

Dave keeps telling me

No more plants in the back of the car.

I don't think he'll notice do you?
