Table Runners

I've seen these stripped table runners allover blog land and thought I could do one on my quilting machine. So I tried it, what could I lose?

Why had I never thought of this before?

A quick ironing and it's onto the next piece.

I had the entire runner done in less than 15 minutes. I think it took longer to pick the fabric than it did to complete it.

It's certainly taking me longer to get the binding on!

Down for the Count

I am sick. Yet again. Seems to be an ongoing thing for the past few months. I dragged myself off to the doctors yesterday; I have to go in for a full bloodwork up and some nasal xrays. I really just would like to feel better!

Before I got sick, I quilted this beautiful quilt for Shirley. She picked up the variated fabrics in Alaska; aren't they stunning? This quilt is a gift for her grandson's 18th birthday.

I also quilted this lovely one for Wilma. Isn't it striking?

One of the prettiest stack and whack quilts I have seen.

I know in my last post I promised a little tutorial to show you, I'm hoping to get that up tomorrow.

And the snow came

All fall we were hearing how this would be one of the worse winters on record for our area. As we waited, we were enjoying warmer than usual temperatures until the weekend that is.

It has been snowing heavily on and off since Saturday and today we have very cold temperatures and strong winds. So strong that we don't have to shovel the front walkway but we may not get our cars out until spring.

Love that snow drift!

I've been working on a few unfinished Christmas presents.
I made these for some gifts and finally got my own finished up.

And a few of these.
Sorry about the blurry picture!

My favorite part is the hint of silver thread in the stitching.

I also got my cat wall hanging finished.

Each block is quilted differently. This one is my favorite.

I'm working on a little tutorial to show you. Hopefully it turns out! I'll post that tomorrow if it does.

As promised

I have certainly enjoyed my week off finishing up some of my own quilts. First up, my birdie stitchery quilt.

I used the Martinique line and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I love the pop of red with the inner border.

And since I hadn't shown December's block,

I'm hoping to get this one quilted this weekend. But first, I have something else to finish.

A Christmas Finish

Rhonda and I completed the quilts for our pastors with little time to spare. We both spent Christmas Eve afternoon hurrying to finish the binding so we could bring the quilts to our Christmas Eve service. But finish them we did.
This first quilt is for our senior pastor. The fabrics are all similar in the 3 quilts so we did different borders on them to set them apart from each other.

quilted with Holly Ribbon
Chai just had to get in there too.

Next for our elder pastor. I love the border on this one.

quilted with Holly and Poinsettia

And the third quilt, for our youth pastor.

quilted with Mini Starflower

I'm taking this week off and planning on spending it working on a few quilts of mine. Hopefully I'll have a finish to show you later this week.
