Dave keeps telling me

No more plants in the back of the car.

I don't think he'll notice do you?

I love

Sitting outside on our back deck and embroidering. I recently finished up a day of the week series and had no idea what to do with them so I passed them onto a friend of mine. She then surprised me with this.

Do you notice something missing in it?

I picked up a new embroidery quilt pattern on the weekend. This could easily become a new favorite quilt.

I've already finished the first block and am quickly doing the second. Dave and I are going on a road trip next week and I had thought I could do these in the car. I might have to buy another project.

Weekend Wrap-up

I always love it when Judy, Marg and Gail bring in quilts. They picked up this batch on Saturday.

Gail made two of these Canuck hockey quilts.

And Marg's quilts.
She did a similar one to Judy.

And lastly, my favorite.

quilted with Blowing in the Wind
Such a pretty pattern. I love how it shows up on the back.

And now, I can spend the rest of my day playing with this.

Busy, busy

It's been a busy summer at Quilted Cats Hideaway. That's good news and bad news; it's always good to be busy but I was really hoping to take most of the summer off *grin*.

It's been busy enough that I haven't been taking as much time as I should to blog. So here are a few recently finished quilts.

Rhonda pieced this special quilt. She was too busy to longarm it so I stepped in for her.

Donna did this lovely quilt for a wedding gift.

quilted with Paisley Playtime
I love this one by Joyce

quilted with Flowing Feathers
Phyllis's mother made 6 of these quilts before she passed away. Phyllis finished them up and brought them in to be quilted.

Lastly, this beauty pieced by Marion.

I took last week off; and my timing seemed to have been right with my week off coinciding with the arrival of the sun here in BC.

I ended up spending the entire week finishing up my Judy Niemeyer Dancing Batiks quilt.

I should have taken a picture of the quilt before I hung it on the wall so you could see the whole thing.

It's funny the reactions this quilt gets. The fabrics were what came in the kit; they are not my colors at all but I didn't want to change them. I love how the quilt looks; it's very bright and just screams summer.

I kept the quilting simple and went with my Circle Lord Swirls. I love the simplicity of the quilting with the complexity of the quilt.

And I couldn't love it more.
