Sad News

I got an email that one of our long time clients passed away. We found out just after Christmas that Junaita had been diagnosed with cancer and was not given long to live. Some of her friends took it upon themselves to get quilt tops of Juanita's finished and brought to us to quilt. The last one I did for her I posted about here. My thoughts are with Juanita's family with her passing.

I've been getting a lot of requests for my favorite Circle Lord board, water.

I did this fun quilt for Audrey.

The water board is perfect for a whale quilt.

And on this lovely quilt by Janice.

I love how the quilting doesn't take away from the piecing.

Finally Finished

This is a new quilt kit from Hamels. It's called a Silhouette quilt; all the applique pieces come ready to be ironed down; I like the idea of having the tracing and cutting already done for me.

I kept the quilting simple. I meandered in all the background; except for the center block. I cross-hatched that one to add just a bit of dimension to the quilt.

In the corner blocks; I cross-hatched the half of the block touching the center block.

For some reason, I did not get a picture of the center block; sorry about that!

Fun-filled

We had a out of town family for the weekend. Had a great time just relaxing and enjoying life. And my second trip in a week down to the US to go fabric shopping lol.

Yesterday, it was back to work. I quilted up this lovely quilt for Hamels.

quilted with Floral Meander

I love this Vintage Modern fabric!

And this next one.

quilted with Linna's Charm

Today I have a stunning custom for Hamels to finish up. Can't wait to show you.

All you need is love

I finished up my Valentine's quilt the other day. I added the black border in as I felt it was missing a pop of colour.

Yesterday I finished this lovely quilt for Juanita.

I quilted it with my favorite CircleLord board, water.

This quilt is a popular class that is taught doing each row.

I love the loons in the corners.

Today I am off to have lunch with a girlfriend. It's back to quilting tomorrow!

Family Day

I had a busy week last week; my daughter in law was here from Calgary. It was wonderful to get to spend some time with her. After we dropped her off at the airport, Dave and I went to Costco. I was carrying a bag of rice into the house when we got home when I tripped over the trailer hitch. I fell, dropping the bag of rice(the birds have loved that). I hurt my knee and hip. Banged up my shoulder and arm as well. So I've spent the past few days just laying low. Happily  today's holiday works in my favour and I do not have to have the studio open today :)

I finally got some quilts hung on the walls last week. Dave was not happy about me putting holes in the fresh paint lol.
My birdie stitcheries quilt has been finished for a long while. I love how it looks against the new paint; it didn't look right with the old paint colour.

I used the quilting pattern Bayside and not 100% sold on it. I almost wish I had customed the quilt instead of doing an allover pattern on it.

I also got a new CircleLord board and quilted up a charity quilt using it.

This is the Lily board; I really like it.

I am hoping to finish up a little Valentine's Day wall hanging today. I just might get it finished for the day. Happy Monday.

Modern

We've been seeing an increase in modern quilts in the past few months.

Janice mailed these two for me to quilt.
How fun are these?

I kept the quilting simple, using the Circle Lord Bubbles board.

And for Iris,

Iris used fleece for a backing; I love how the quilting shows.

Very warm and snugglie!

First Finish of 2013

I finished my disappearing 4-patch quilt on the weekend. Well, the binding still needs to be put on but the quilting is done.

I love the circles.

Should I tell you that when Dave saw this one my machine he called it an ugly quilt??

I also got the homework finished for my next Bali class.

I'll post a picture after the next class of my progress.
