Christmas quilting

Among my Christmas fabrics, I found 2 and a bit jelly rolls. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them so I sewed up a jelly roll race.

It's almost a double size and at this point I'm not sure what I am going to do with it :)

I made this quilt a few weekends ago.

It's a tutorial from Missouri Star called Ribbon Star(click here)

I was able to get it quilted on the weekend and up on the wall in time for Christmas.

I quilted the panto Snazzy Snowflake on it. Very cute!

I love the pieced binding.

Another project crossed off the list.

Last quilt of 2015

Rachel made this lizard quilt for her son.

We went with the fun panto, Lenny Lizard. I love how it looks on the backing.

On the lizard, I did some pebbling.

I showed a sneak peek of this quilt the other day.

This is a Bunny Hill advent quilt for Hamels Quilt Store.

Hidden among the blocks are little dated pockets.

I kept the quilting simple and did some stippling in the block backgrounds.

Some piano keys and stars

It's a cute one.

Now that work is done, I can get some Christmas things of my own finished.

Happy weekend.

For the most part, we are closed Wednesdays. I love having a day off right in the middle of the week and it gives me some time to sneak in some quilting of my own.

I realized the other day that I was short two gifts for Christmas. I had some leftover jelly roll strips from a long ago project and a plan.

I made up two of these runners and even got them quilted. I went with a simple meander to just make it faster.

Simple and effective.

Now it's back to work. Tomorrow is our last day of work for 2015. I have a custom to finish up and a lap quilt and than we are done!

10 days left

And we are in our final week of quilting. I have 2 quilts left to finish this week and we will be closed until January 4th. I am looking forward to our Christmas break; I might even get a project or two done for me.

I posted a teaser of Rachel's quilt a few posts back. Rachel picked up her quilt last week, here is the finished quilt.

We went with a full custom on this. Rachel had taken the class at a local quilt shop; I had custom quilted the class sample and Rachel wanted it quilted similarly.

Piano keys and ribbon stitching.

I used a lot of block insets which are fun to quilt.

There was some fullness in the quilt so I added an extra piece of batting in the middle of the quilt to suck some of the fullness up.

Lots of work into this from both Rachel and myself. Always worth it in the end when the quilter falls in love with her quilt allover again once it's finished.

Busy Fingers

I finished up a few embroidery projects over the weekend.

I love these

And this one

I also finished up this quilt for Dianne.

We stayed with the antique feeling of the quilt and went with a baptist fan pattern.

Christmas is getting closer every day. We are hoping to have everything quilted and wrapped up by the 15th but it might stretch out to the 18th. Thanks for keeping us busy!

Custom Quilts

Always seem to be so popular at Christmas time. I finished up the one I posted on Monday(pictures later this week). These are two others I just finished.

This Snowglobe quilt for Hamels.

I quilted the quilt with the panto Flurry and also did a loose meander around the embroidery.

And this wall hanging for Sylvia.

I did some stippling in the background and a piano key in the border.

I added a few embellishments to some of the trees as well.

Very cute!
